Abstract
The Airports and Heliports database,developed by the U.S. Geological Survey and Montana Dept. of Administration/ITSD, is a geographic point layer of aircraft landing facilities in Montana. This layer includes airports, heliports, stolports, ultalight and sea plane bases.Attribute data is provided on basic physical characteristics, location, and contact information for these landing facilities.Attributes were derived from a variety of sources. There are 273 landing facilities in the Airports dataset.
A comprehensive statewide spatial database of airports in Montana devloped to support a wide range of GIS activities.

No liability is assumed for the correctness or completeness of this database bythe USGS,MT Department of Administration or the Montana State Library Clearinghouse. Users should read the metadata and determine if it is appropriate for their use. No warranty expressed or implied is made by the Montana State Library regarding the utility of the data on any other system, nor shall the act of distribution constitute any such warranty. State law (Montana Code Annotated 2-6-109 (1)(a) ) explicitly prohibits State agencies from selling or distributing a list of persons to be used as a mailing list without first securing the permission of those on the list. State law (MCA 2-6-109 (1)(b) ) also explicitly prohibits anyone from using a list of persons prepared by a state agency as a mailing list without first securing the permission of those on the list. 'A person violating the provisions of subsection (1)(b) is guilty of a misdemeanor.
